| 1984-1990 - Children physician in the Central Hospital of Pasvalys.
1988 - elected as member of Lithuanian Changeover Movement Pasvalys District Council, in Chair of the Council in 1989.
1990-1992 - Deputy of the Supreme Council (Reconstituent Seimas) elected by Pasvalys electoral district No.95. Nominated by the Supreme Council (Reconstituent Seimas). Signatory of the Act of Independence of the Republic of Lithuania. Member of Health Affairs and Municipality Commissions of the Supreme Council (Reconstituent Seimas).
1992-1996 - Spokesperson for Seimas Opposition, reporter of the Homeland Union Fraction of Conservatives.
1996-2000 - Member of Seimas No. 7 elected in Anykscių-Kupiskio electoral district No.49. Nominated by the Homeland Union (Lithuanian Conservatives). Member of the National Security Committee (later- Nacional Security and Defence Committee) of Seimas.
