Outgoing UK Defence Attaché Lt. Col. L.Wilson awarded with the Medal of Merit

imgMay 5, Defence Attaché of the UK in Lithuania Lt. Col. Lindsay Wilson was farewelled after his term of office at the Ministry of National Defence. A National Defence System Medal of Merit was bestowed on the leaving officer for his merits and personal contribution in strengthening military cooperation of Lithuania and the UK.

Russian and Belarusian arms control experts will conduct observation flight above Lithuania with An-30B

imgDelegation of Russian and Belarusian arms control experts visiting Lithuanian Air Force Aviation Base (Siauliai) from May 4 to 8 will conduct observation flight over the territory of Lithuania with AN-30B of Russian Air Force. The flight under the OSCE Open Skies Treaty is planned for May 7. It is the first observation flight implemented by the Russian arms control experts under the Treaty this year.

Air Contingent of the Czech Republic took over the NATO Baltic Air-policing mission

imgAir components deployed on the Baltic Air-policing mission in the Lithuanian Air Force Aviation Base (Siauliai) rotated on May 1. Troops of the Royal Danish Air Force who provided security for the Baltic airspace transferred the mission to the Czech Air Contingent. This is the first time troops of the Czech Air Force will be conducting NATO Baltic Air-policing mission.
