After decades of conflict Lithuanian peacekeepers bring Afghan tribes to common table 2008-04-02
  Commander of Lithuanian-led Ghowr PRT-6 Col. Albertas Kondrotas, Head of the Lithuanian Special Mission Aleksandras Matonis and Deputy Head of the Special Mission Marius Alekna met with leaders of bibog and sardar tribes in Dowlat Yar region 60 km east of Chaghcharan on March 27.

March 29 – the day Lithuania entered NATO 2008-03-28
 It is customary to recollect achievements and jobs done celebrating the day of Lithuania's accession to NATO. Four years of membership proved Lithuania with its armed forces ahead was a reliable ally able to assume collective responsibility for defence of the allies' sovereignty, democracy and security of citizens along with other NATO member states.

 National Defence Minister Juozas Olekas and Armed Forces Commander Gen. Lt. Valdas Tutkus will go to Georgia on an official visit, March 27-28.
In Tbilisi they will meet Premier of Georgia Vladimir Gurgenidze, Parliamentary Speaker Nino Burdzhanadze, Defence Minister David Kezerashvili and Foreign Affairs Vice Minister Nikoloz Vashakidze.
