Soldiers from Algirdas Battalion to replace their colleagues in Iraq 2003.12.29
![]() On Monday, 29 December an official seeing-off ceremony took place at the Lithuanian Grand Duke Algirdas Mechanised Infantry Battalion in Rukla when a 54-strong platoon to serve as part of LITCON 3 (Lithuanian contingent) departed for their mission in Iraq. Prior to their involvement in their mission in Iraq, the Lithuanian military personnel will go to Denmark, where they will undertake over a month pre-mission training. The seeing-off ceremony was attended by Lithuanian National Defence Minister, Linas Linkevičius, Commander of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, Major General Jonas Kronkaitis, Commander of the Lithunianina Land Forces, Brigadier General Valdas Tutkus. |
