HE Ambassador came from Denmark to the work visit to Lithuania where he met Lithuanian Minister of National Defence and exchanged views on plans of Lithuanian and South Korean forces' participation in NATO-led operation in Afghanistan. |

Rotation of contingents on Baltic Air-policing mission 2010.01.04
![]() On January 4 shifts of air contingents performing the NATO's Baltic Air-policing mission changed at a ceremony held at the Air Base of the Lithuanian Air Force (Šiauliai). German Air Contingent was replaced by a French unit with four „Mirage-2000" fighter-jets. The French unit has taken up the responsibility for the mission for a second time (after 2007). The current shift comprises around 150 military the majority of which serve with the French Air Force BA 103 Cambrai air base (north of the country).

![]() Trilateral Baltic Battalion (BALTBAT) manned by Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia began
130 personnel of Lithuanian Contingent in the EU Battle Group comes from Motorised Infantry Company and logistics platoon, CIMIC division, and MP division of King Mindaugas Mechanised Infantry Battalion and includes military assigned to the multinational staff. Other countries represented in the Battle Group along with Lithuania are Poland, Latvia, Slovakia and Germany. |
