US cadet begins studies at the Lithuanian Military Academy2012.02.01

Third-year cadet of the Virginia Military Institute (US) Benjamin Travers begins studies at the Gen Jonas Žemaitis Lithuanian Military Academy.
According to the cooperation and exchange programme between the Lithuanian Military Academy (LMA) and the Virginia Military Institute the cadet will study the spring semester to July 2, 2012, at the Lithuanian Military Academy and Vilnius University.
To involve B. Travers into the activity of the Academy as soon as possible he was familiarized with the activity and studies at the institution. The cadet was assigned into the LMA Cadet Battalion, briefed on the activities of the LMA cadets. Benjamin Travers also shared his experience and impressions regarding studies and opportunities at the Virginia Military Institute.
Lithuanian Military Academy have been developing cooperation with the Virginia Military Institute since 2001. On 9 July 2009 the cooperation agreement was reopened – on that basis a third-year LMA cadet spends a semester studying at the Virginia Military Institute on an annual basis, and one cadet of the institute deepens his knowledge of a selected academic subject in Lithuania.
Three cadets from the Saint-Cyr Military Academy (France) arrived to study at LMA this year as well, they will attend the English Language Course from January to February. Lithuanian cadets will go study and improve themselves to France this autumn.
