Media Day held at the Lithuanian Air Force’s Šiauliai Air Base

February 3, troops of the Lithuanian and German Air Forces involved in the Baltic Air Policing mission will organise a Media Day “See and feel it”.

The aim of the event is to demonstrate the cooperation of the foreign air contingents deployed on the Baltic Air Policing mission and Lithuanian units that render Host Nation Support.

Lithuanian and German military personnel will present the target, scheme, and procedures of the mission, demonstrate preparation for a drill flight and the flight itself if the weather is suitable.

The media representatives will also be invited to observe a simulated air crash and evacuation of an allegedly injured F-4 „Phantom“ pilot where the first medical aid procedures and airlifting by SAREX Mi-8 helicopter to a healthcare institution will be demonstrated.

The registered media representatives should arrive at the Air Base on February 3 at 1030.
