Head of Defence Cooperation Department of the USA Embassy in Lithuania bestowed with Medal of Merit for his tenure in Lithuania

June 9, Head of Defence Cooperation Department of the USA Embassy in Lithuania Lt. Col. Richard Gibbons whose term of office had just ended was awarded the Medal of Merit during a ceremony at the Ministry of National Defence. Lt. Col. R. Gibbons received the highest level award of the National Defence System from Undersecretary of MoND A. Krivas.

The new Head of Defence Cooperation Department Lt. Co. James R. Hogan who will replace Lt. Col. R. Gibbons after his two-year tenure in Lithuania was also present in the ceremony.

Lt. Col. R. Gibbons was honoured with the Medal of Merit for his significant personal contribution and merits in strengthening Lithuanian System of National Defence and its combat readiness as well as for the support on Lithuania's course of integration into the Euro-Atlantic system of defence.
